Maritime Chartwork

The moment a vessel crosses the 12 nautical miles limit while proceeding to the high seas, it is navigating in international waters. The skipper, therefore, needs to be conversant with international regulations and is expected to abide by them. He/she shall be required to be proficient in using navigational charts, among many other technical aspects of navigation.

Maritime Chartwork for Coastal and Oceangoing Navigation

Develop Advanced Chartwork Competence: Train learners to accurately plot positions, bearings, courses, and tidal calculations on nautical charts.

Apply International Standards for Safe Navigation. Ensure learners can integrate chartwork with COLREGS, international conventions, and seamanship principles, enabling them to confidently navigate vessels beyond 24 NM into open sea and oceangoing routes.
